What’s with the tough Fox News reporters lately?
It’s lovely to see, I will admit. I really enjoy watching Peter Doocy ask Jen Psaki tough questions that make her squirm…of course, Jen is curiously AWOL during the Afghanistan debacle.
But while she’s gone, we do have another Fox reporter who’s giving Peter a run for his money.
Lucas Tomlinson is making mincemeat out of Pentagon Spokesman John Kirby, who is starting to sound exactly like Baghdad Bob, the “Minister of Truth” from the Iraq war days.
Tomlinson carved up Kirby like a Thanksgiving turkey over the wildly wrong statements he’s made about the Taliban, Afghanistan, and that godforsaken hellscape airport in Kabul.
Fox News reported that Pentagon spokesman John Kirby stood by his comments last week that Kabul was not in “imminent” danger even though two days later the Afghan capital collapsed into Taliban control.
Fox News’ Lucas Tomlinson pressed Kirby during a Pentagon news conference Saturday about his statement on Aug. 13 that “Kabul is not right now in an imminent-threat environment.”
“How could you get that so wrong?” Tomlinson asked.
Kirby explained that he was sharing the best information he had at the time while acknowledging the public “ridicule.” He said the situation in Afghanistan changed “dramatically” two days later but his comments at the time were an “accurate” reflection of the Defense Department assessment.
“In the moment that I said it, based on what we knew at the time, it was a true statement,” Kirby said Saturday. “And yes, two days later, things dramatically changed. I readily admit that things moved very, very quickly.”

It’s refreshing to see a reporter actually do his job and push these pencil-neck geeks into a corner and hold them responsible for their mishandlings, lies, and ineptitude.
For far too long now, these disgraced failures have gotten away with lying to the American people and covering up their mistakes.
It’s good to see the veil being lifted and we can now see how inept and useless our political ruling class truly is.
