The photographer who took the now viral pictures of the border agents on horseback came clean and debunked some of the claims the left is making. He said the agents never whipped anyone.
“Some of the Haitian men started running, trying to go around the horses,” Paul Ratje said. “I’ve never seen them whip anyone. He was swinging it, but it can be misconstrued when you’re looking at the picture.”
Brandon Judd, head of the National Border Patrol Council, blasted Biden for jumping the gun and trashing the agents before an investigation was finished. He said: “Now that the President of the United States has already said they did wrong, how is an investigator supposed to do a true and honest investigation?
“Because if that investigator finds they did nothing wrong — and they didn’t do anything wrong — but if that investigator finds they didn’t do anything wrong, how is that investigator’s job going to go? He is playing politics with Border Patrol agents’ lives, that’s what he’s doing.”
Fox reporter Bill Melugin said: “The photographer who took the now infamous photos of mounted Border Patrol agents in Del Rio says he and his colleagues never saw agents whipping anyone and the photos are being misconstrued. However, the false narrative is off and running.
Biden said: “To see people treated like they did, horses barely running over, people being strapped — it’s outrageous. I promise you, those people will pay.
“There will be an investigation underway now and there will be consequences.
“There will be consequences.”
“It’s an embarrassment, but beyond an embarrassment, it’s dangerous.”
“It sends the wrong message around the world. It sends the wrong message at home.”
“It’s simply not who we are.”
“Human beings should not be treated that way,” Kamala Harris said.
“It also invoked images of some of the worst moments of our history, where that kind of behavior has been used against the Indigenous people of our country, it has been used against African Americans during times of slavery.”
