Dr. Anthony Fauci, who now works as President Joe Biden’s chief medical adviser on the COVID-19 pandemic, continues to confuse Americans on whether or not they’re safe after receiving both COVID-19 vaccinations.
According to the Washington Examiner, Fauci recently said that he doesn’t feel comfortable going out to eat or engaging in similar activities in public, even after receiving two COVID-19 vaccination shots, which runs contrary to what we were all led to believe would happen once the vaccine became available.
“I still do not do dining indoors and I still do takeout,” Fauci said during a Monday press briefing. “I want to continue to support the restaurants in my neighborhood that I would normally go to.”
This is coming from the same “expert” who laughed off the idea of Americans donning masks early on in the pandemic, last year, and now wants everyone to wear two or three masks.
Fauci’s apparent reasoning behind his reluctance to say that going out to eat is safe after receiving both vaccinations comes as it still remains unclear how effective the vaccines are at preventing the spread of COVID-19. Apparently, more studies need to be done to determine the risk, but again, it runs counter to everything we have been fed about vaccines for the past six months.
It’s outrageous, to say the least, and since Fauci said it, it will empower Democratic governors and health department officials to continue to scare Americans into hiding in their homes for the foreseeable future — probably well into 2022.
It’s no surprise, then, that some experts, like epidemiologist and Harvard Medical School Professor Julia Marcus have warned that Fauci’s messaging can discourage millions from getting the vaccine.
“Advising people that they must do nothing differently after vaccination — not even in the privacy of their homes — creates the misimpression that vaccines offer little benefit at all,” Marcus said.
“Vaccines provide a true reduction of risk, not a false sense of security. And trying to eliminate even the lowest-risk changes in behavior both underestimates people’s need to be close to one another and discourages the very thing that will get everyone out of this mess: vaccine uptake,” she added.
Why isn’t this expert in charge? Why is Dr. Fauci the only person who seems to be the one calling the shots? He’s most certainly not the only “expert” in the country, by any stretch.
Even Meghan McCain called for Fauci to be replaced on a recent airing of “The View,” citing his consistently confusing messaging, leaving everyday Americans wondering if they’re safe or not and most of all, wondering when in the world we can all begin to get back to normal, whatever that is.
For being literally the highest-paid government employee in the United States, Fauci needs to do a much better job at providing clear, consistent messaging or get out of the way and let someone more qualified do the job.
