Rush Limbaugh was the first firebrand conservative and gave us a voice of reason when the whole world was rushing headfirst into woke culture. According to a report, Limbaugh gets one last honor with his occupation on his death certificate reading: Greatest Radio Host of All Time, Radio/Media.
Limbaugh told his audience he had advanced lung cancer in February 2020 saying, “I wish I didn’t have to tell you this, and I thought about not trying to tell anybody, I thought about trying to do this without anybody knowing, because I don’t like making things about me. But there are going to be days that I’m not going to be able to be here Because I will be undergoing treatment.”
Limbaugh spent his 30-year career tearing down liberal talking points, laughed in the face of political correctness, and supported Republicans with a strong passion. He was the most powerful voice in conservative politics.
TMZ received the death certificate from the Palm Bean County Medical Examiner’s office. The report noted that Rush’s widow Kathryn Limbaugh was likely responsible for the honor. Which, in my opinion, makes it even more lovely.
When Rush died, Kathryn said, “I know that I am most certainly not the Limbaugh that you tuned in to listen to today. I, like you, very much wish Rush was behind this golden microphone right now, welcoming you to another exceptional three hours of broadcasting. For over 32 years, Rush has cherished you, loyal audience, and always looked forward to every single show. It is with profound sadness I must share with you directly that our beloved Rush, my wonderful husband, passed away this morning due to complications from lung cancer.”
Limbaugh was a friend and supporter of President Trump. Rush famously predicted Trump’s win and supported him before Americans realized who President Trump could be. President Trump, who spoke to Rush a couple of days before his death, said, “His fight was very, very courageous, and he was very, very sick and, you know, from diagnosis on. It was just something that was not going to be beat, but you wouldn’t know it.”
President Trump honored Rush in 2020 with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Losing Rush’s voice during a point of uncertainty in our country is profoundly felt. Rush’s presence is felt in conservative pundits like Steven Crowder and Jack Posobeic. Although their styles are different, there is no denying that Rush paved their way.
He truly was the Greatest Radio Host of All Time.
