Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, just a day after she was kicked off high-profile committee assignments for incendiary remarks she made in the past concerning a number of conspiracy theories, turned the tables on the media during a press conference on Friday.
According to The Hill, Greene spoke briefly to reporters outside of the U.S. Capitol, where she turned a number of the questions she was asked back on the reporters, who all seemed anxious to taunt her into saying something she shouldn’t.
Greene was called out by one reporter who asked if she still stands by her previous accusations that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is guilty of treason, which at the time Greene said was a “crime punishable by death.”
The GOP lawmaker interrupted the reporter and fired back, “How many stories did you report on Russian collusion conspiracy lies?” She added, “You owe the people an apology. You lied about President Trump.”
“You know what the media does? And you guys are great at it — and I’m telling you this because I want to like you — but you’re doing a really good job at addicting our nation to hate,” Greene added, after initially trying to hold a relatively peaceful back-and-forth with the reporters in attendance.
Another reporter jumped in, asking Greene if she still stood by a post that she like on Facebook that suggested “a bullet to the head would be quicker” with regard to the accusation of Pelosi’s “treason,” Greene once again snapped back with an accusation of her own.
“You know, here’s the thing. When you want to keep telling the same story over and over but you don’t want to tell the truth, that’s your problem,” Greene said, while swiftly ending the presser at that point.
However, before ending the press conference, Greene suggested that the Republican party is still very much influenced by former President Donald Trump, of which she is a staunch supporter. Some believe that House Republicans who voted against stripping her of her committee assignments did so out of fear of backlash from their pro-Trump constituents.

She also sent a warning to the House Republicans who did, in fact, vote in favor of stripping her from her assignments, reminding them that Republican voters who still support Trump are not happy with their decision.
“People are very angry. That’s all I’ve heard from people all morning, furious about that. So I hope that my Republican colleagues really think about what they’ve done,” Greene said.
She’s not wrong, either. A quick glance at any mainstream social media network clearly shows that Trump supporters are nothing short of outraged that Greene has suffered such a rare punishment for things she’s said in the past, with many of her supporters saying it’s nothing more than a partisan witch hunt.
