President Trump SLAMMED Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell on Tuesday calling him a “dour, sullen, and unsmiling political hack” who doesn’t deserve to lead the Republican Party any longer.
“Mitch is a dour, sullen, and unsmiling political hack, and if Republican Senators are going to stay with him, they will not win again,” Trump said. “He will never do what needs to be done, or what is right for our Country. Where necessary and appropriate, I will back primary rivals who espouse Making America Great Again and our policy of America First. We want brilliant, strong, thoughtful, and compassionate leadership.”
The statement comes just days after McConnell voted to acquit Trump in a second impeachment trial but blamed him “practically and morally” for the Jan. 6 Capitol riot and suggested that Trump face civil or criminal charges.

In addition to threatening a wave of Republican challengers and a change away from McConnell’s “status quo” leadership, Trump also said it is the senator’s “lack of political insight, wisdom, skill, and personality” that opened up the door for the Democrats led by now-Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to “play McConnell like a fiddle.”
Trump’s statement also blames McConnell for dampening the Republicans’ 2020 election efforts, especially in Georgia, by inserting himself, “one of the most unpopular politicians in the United States,” into the campaign process including advertisements and voting against $2,000 COVID-19 checks.
“It was a complete election disaster in Georgia and certain other swing states. McConnell did nothing and will never do what needs to be done in order to secure a fair and just electoral system in the future,” Trump said. “He doesn’t have what it takes, never did, never will.”
Trump continued his rant against McConnell by stating that he regrets ever supporting him in his close 2020 Senate race, especially because “he has no credibility on China.” Trump also recapped his successes during his four years in office.
“This is a big moment for our country, and we cannot let it pass by using third-rate ‘leaders’ to dictate our future!” the statement concluded.
