There is no denying the TERRIBLE optics of Senator Cruz flying to warm, sunny Mexico with his family while leaving Texans to deal with no power and water after a severe winter storm wrecked Texas’ power grid. Liberal Twitter is having an absolute field day with the story. Everyone from CNN-VICE is joining in on the “Cruz murdered Texans” hysteria.
I was one of the first to admit that conservatives who spent the summer calling out Democrats who jetted off to tropical vacations or gathered with friends at restaurants after preaching and voting for stay-at-home orders need to be consistent here.
Although the situation isn’t exactly comparing apples to apples – as Senator Cruz didn’t cause the winter storm nor did he push for the green energy policies that failed Texans – Ted Cruz has to be aware of the optics of an “elitist” from Washington jumping on a plane to somewhere warm while seniors are huddled together over a trash can fire in their care home.
It isn’t good. Before he left, a simple statement apologizing for having to leave but explaining that he didn’t feel comfortable allowing his daughters on the trip to Mexico without him would have been enough to defend him. It didn’t happen, and the Senator needs to take his licks for this.
However, this isn’t even the real story that we should be focusing on. A conservative Senator was doxxed by a private company – how is this not actively inciting violence against a sitting United States Senator?

A Twitter reporter for Deplatformed Space, “a news aggregation site for conservatives who feel censored by the left,” @amuse tweeted– “Today United Airlines shared the travel itinerary of Senator Ted Cruz with members of the media and as a result, the public at large. His flight information is being included in tweets to and from mainstream media including CNN and Jim Acosta.”
@amuse pointed out that “when Democrats call for the death of senators like Ted Cruz, they don’t realize that they’re putting the lives of the Secret Service, Police, and airport employees at risk too.” And if you think that releasing his flight information is somehow harmless or a victimless crime, you couldn’t be more wrong.
It is tweets like Bryan Dawson’s, which said, “Ted Cruz flew to Cancun while the people he supposedly represents suffer and die from cold due to continued systemic Republican incompetence. No signs of Heidi, though. She must be busy managing the fallout in her Texas energy portfolio for Goldman Sachs,” proves the point entirely.
There isn’t much U.S. Senator Ted Cruz can do other than pass along helpful emergency information from the state government. Gov. Abbott’s job is to deal with federal assistance, and the state official, not the federal ones, are responsible for managing this crisis. From a purely moral standpoint, Ted Cruz did nothing wrong, but the reality is he doesn’t get to go to Mexico while Texans freeze and escape without criticism.
But claiming that his going to Mexico is somehow causing Texans to suffer more could cause a frozen and hungry Texan to attempt something dangerous against a senator. @amuse says, “remember, just four years ago a Democratic campaign worker read a tweet from Bernie Sanders suggesting that Republicans in Congress wanted to kill Americans and as a result, he went to the Republican softball practice injuring five and almost killing Steve Scalise.”
@amuse reports that Ted Cruz’s wife Heidi “is literally on the phone trying to get protection from HPD when Ted lands in Houston. His family is terrified. If you needed any more proof that the Democratic Party is the party of hate, look no further. Pray for Ted, his family, and the police.”
Passengers reportedly received refunds after the airline put passengers’ lives at risk after doxxing Senator Cruz. “Sources at the FAA report that there have been more than a dozen bomb threats for the flight Senator Cruz is reportedly booked on,” reports @amuse.
This past month AOC claimed Ted Cruz tried to have her murdered after he decided to stand up for election integrity. So by AOC’s standards, what is United Airlines guilty of?
