Members of The Squad rushed to defend Rep. Ilhan Omar after her latest anti-American Twitter diatribe. It resulted in a rare rebuke from members of her own party in the form of a statement issued by a dozen Jewish Democrats.
Omar’s comparison of the U.S. and Israel to terrorist groups Hamas and the Taliban proved to be the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back to the House members who were led by Illinois Rep. Brad Scheider.
The short and tepid statement called for Omar to “clarify her words” accusing the two nations of “unthinkable atrocities,” falling far short of the scourging that she truly deserves.
But if the Jewish Dems were expecting an apology, they were soon disappointed because they only succeeded in whacking the hornet’s nest as Omar’s fellow Squad members swarmed Twitter for a counterattack.
Led by leader Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez the quartet returned fire with AOC resorting to one of her favorite big lies, that such criticism puts Omar in danger.
Pretty sick & tired of the constant vilification, intentional mischaracterization, and public targeting of @IlhanMN coming from our caucus.
They have no concept for the danger they put her in by skipping private conversations & leaping to fueling targeted news cycles around her.

“They have no concept for the danger they put her in by skipping private conversations & leaping to fueling targeted news cycles around her.” She tweeted.
Rashida Tlaib, another Jew-hating liar accused House Democrat leadership of racism and Islamaphobia.
Freedom of speech doesn’t exist for Muslim women in Congress. The benefit of the doubt doesn’t exist for Muslim women in Congress. House Democratic leadership should be ashamed of its relentless, exclusive tone policing of Congresswomen of color.

“House Democratic leadership should be ashamed of its relentless, exclusive tone policing of Congresswomen of color.” Squealed Tlaib.
Ayanna Pressley doubled down on Omar’s anti-Israel rhetoric by suggesting that Congress was enabling violence against the Palestinians. The same Palestinians who instigated the recent violence in Gaza by firing thousands of rockets at civilian areas in Israel.
Stop the bad faith attempts to take @IlhanMN‘s words out of context. She called a simple question.
The ICC exists to investigate and exact recourse when human rights are violated.
Imagine if Congress was as outraged by what Palestinians endure daily. pic.twitter.com/XP8JXD8k0S

New addition Cori Bush, a rabid cop-hating Black Lives Matter activist predictably played the race card against her Jewish House colleagues, throwing in an accusation of Islamaphobia as well.
Stop attacking @IlhanMN. Stop attacking us.
I’m not surprised when Republicans attack Black women for standing up for human rights. But when it’s Democrats, it’s especially hurtful. We’re your colleagues. Talk to us directly.
Enough with the anti-Blackness and Islamophobia.

Omar herself responded to Rep. Schneider and the others but it wasn’t the clarification of her words that her fellow House members hand in mind. She shamed them and accused them of being Islamophobic, clearly angry that she would be reprimanded by those of a demographic that she despises to the very depths of her dark and hateful soul.
It’s shameful for colleagues who call me when they need my support to now put out a statement asking for “clarification” and not just call.
The islamophobic tropes in this statement are offensive. The constant harassment & silencing from the signers of this letter is unbearable. https://t.co/37dy2UduW0

Adding to the Squad’s fury was another statement, this one by House leadership also chastizing Omar for her remarks. Although it was likely driven more out of Pelosi needing to engage in cynical ass-covering at a time when all hands on deck are needed to advance their extremist agenda.
According to the statement:
“Legitimate criticism of the policies of both the United States and Israel is protected by the values of free speech and democratic debate,” the leadership team wrote in a joint statement. “But drawing false equivalencies between democracies like the U.S. and Israel and groups that engage in terrorism like Hamas and the Taliban foments prejudice and undermines progress toward a future of peace and stability for all.”
The statement added, “We welcome the clarification by Congresswoman Omar that there is no moral equivalency between the U.S. and Israel and Hamas and the Taliban.”
Pelosi’s statement also pretends that Omar clarified her offensive remarks which she did not.
The very least that Pelosi and House leadership should do would be to strip Omar of her seat on the powerful House Foreign Affairs Committee. That they did not shows that they will continue to tolerate the anti-Semitism that is slowly taking over the Democratic party.
